Generation down at NTPC-Kaniha plant due to coal crunch

Due to coal crunch po颅wer, generation at NTPC's 3,000 MW Kaniha plant, India's second biggest power plant, drastically dropped in September. A 500 MW unit has been shut down since the beginning of this month due to scarcity of coal. Similarly, another 500 MW unit, closed earlier is yet to be restored.
