CIDCO distributes 46 plots to PAPs through electronic raffle

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) recently held a computerized draw to award alternate plots in the Navi Mumbai International Airport project area to project-affected persons (PAPs). A total of 46 plots were successfully allotted during the draw on June 22, 2023, with 23 plots coming under the rehabilitation and resettlement scheme and the remaining 23 plots falling under the 22.5% scheme. The ceremony was held at the organization's headquarters, CIDCO Bhavan.

Rajesh Patil, JMD of CIDCO, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating, 鈥淲e are pleased with the successful conduct of the computerized draw, which ensures fair allocation of plots to the project-affected persons.鈥

CIDCO is developing the Navi Mumbai International Airport on 1160 hectares of land obtained from ten villages in Tal. Panvel, Dist. Raigad, Navi Mumbai. CIDCO has executed the state government-approved 22.5% scheme, providing project-affected individuals with the best rehabilitation package in the country, among other perks.

Highlighting the efforts made by CIDCO, Suresh Mengde, CVO, stated, 鈥淐IDCO has developed the Pushpak Nagar Node of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Area (R&R), which is equipped with all necessary physical, social, and cultural amenities for the airport PAPs.鈥

However, due to technological issues, several of the initially assigned plots had to be annulled. Smita Shirodkar, Senior Planner (Airport Resettlement & Rehabilitation), addressed this issue, stating, "During the recent computerized draw, CIDCO ensured that the concerned project-affected persons were allocated alternative plots totaling 46." This will give them with adequate and satisfactory accommodations."
