Delhi to invest Rs 1,100 cr in housing projects

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved Rs 1,100 crore to complete the ongoing housing projects in 2021-22.

The authority approved the annual budget for 2021-22, with an annual outlay of Rs 6,738 crore and receipts have been projected at Rs 6,749 crore.

The DDA said in a statement that all its ongoing housing projects are likely to be completed in 2021-22, and Rs 1,100 crore has been provided for the completion of the projects.

DDA is the nodal agency for executing 376 JJ clusters for the ambitious mission "Housing for all" under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

For three JJ clusters at Kalkaji Extension, Kathputli Colony and Jailor Wala Bagh, construction of 7,500 EWS houses are in progress which is likely to be completed by December 2021.

DDA said that a request for proposal (RFP) for four in situ slum rehabilitation projects comprising approximately 7,100 households is likely to be floated in March 2021. Tender for more in situ slum rehabilitation projects in each quarter is projected to be floated by December 2021 for 26,500 houses. 

DDA has also allocated Rs 46 crore for the upgradation of three commercial centres鈥擝hikaji Cama Place, Basant Lok Community Centre, and Nehru Place.

The authority has allocated Rs 2,326 crore for the development of land and physical infrastructure facilities such as roads, sewerage, water supply, power lines and drainage mainly in the sub-cities of Dwarka, Narela and Rohini under development.
