Ludhiana Civic Body razes unauthorised Giaspura Colony

In its ongoing efforts to address unauthorised structures within the city, the municipal corporation (MC) took action against an illicit under-construction colony situated on Sua road in Giaspura.

According to civic body officials, it was reported that the colonizer was engaging in the construction of the colony without proper authorisation and had erected a boundary wall on the premises.

Assistant town planner (ATP - Zone C) Pardeep Sehgal and building inspector Paulparneet Singh mentioned that, as per the directives of MC commissioner Sandeep Rishi, routine operations were being carried out to curb illegal constructions in the city.

Upon receiving information about the existence of an unauthorised colony on Sua road, the civic body team arrived at the location and dismantled the roads and sewer system that had been put in place. The civic body officials cautioned the coloniser, stating that strict legal action would be taken if construction were to resume at the site.

In the meantime, MC chief Sandeep Rishi urged residents to initiate construction projects only after obtaining approval for the building plans from the civic body. The civic body officials also urged the public to verify whether a colony is authorised before purchasing a plot there.
