Barely three weeks since its launch, the plot allocation scheme by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has witnessed an overwhelming response. The scheme offers plots for independent houses near the upcoming Noida International Airport, and it has been perceived as a real estate opportunity not to be missed. More than 1.73 lakh users have registered on the portal, competing for just 1,184 plots available. The rush has seen 1.23 lakh forms purchased online, 1.1 lakh applications submitted, and 78,290 applicants paying 10% earnest money. The scheme, which concludes its application period on Friday, offers residential plots of various sizes across different sectors.
Notably, only 19 plots are available in the largest size of 2,000 square meters. The plots, priced at Rs 24,600 per square meter, will be allocated through a draw of lots on October 18, with applicants who have paid earnest money being given preference.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh expressed his enthusiasm over the response, stating that this is the first time YEIDA has received such a tremendous number of applications. The plot schemes around the Yamuna Expressway started generating interest due to the progress in constructing the Noida airport, sparking a renewed interest in housing plots. The strategic location, now bolstered by infrastructure projects like the Apparel, Toy, and Medical Device parks, as well as the proposed Film City, has positioned the area as a prime investment opportunity, erasing concerns about distance and development.
