Uttar Pradesh govt amends Integrated Township Policy-2014

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved an amendment to the Integrated Township Policy-2014 (License Based System) that requires developers to pay urban development fees in accordance with the layout plan.
According to a policy devised for the UP Housing and Development Board and development authorities to encourage private investment in housing schemes, the developer was required to pay urban development fees when a detailed project report (DPR) was approved.
Following the amendment, township developers will be obligated to pay the fee by the layout plan rather than at the time of DPR approval.
The cabinet also agreed to spend Rs 37.35 lakh to erect a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Kanpur's Circuit House.
A Rs 412.5 crore project to widen Chakiya Marg between Mohansarai Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar and Mohansarai Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar was also approved.
It connects BHU, DLW, Varanasi Cantt railway station and bus station, as well as Sarnath, Chandauli, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, and Gorakhpur.
The project to widen the Varanasi-Bhadohi-Gopiganj road, worth Rs 269 crore, was also approved.
The cabinet also approved the construction of 23 bus stations by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
17 bus stations will be designed, built, financed, operated, and transferred in the first phase.
It was decided to make certain zones in Chitrakoot district free as part of an agreement between the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to allow hassle-free vehicle movement between the two states.
The rule, which had been in effect since 21st November 2006, was extended.
The cabinet also approved a stamp duty waiver for private developers building EWS units as part of housing schemes worth more than Rs 500. The stamp duty was due on 5th December 2013 as per order.
