NHAI receives 14 bids for package-2 of Kanpur-Lucknow expressway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened the technical bids and received 14 bids to build the 45.244 km long Package-2 of the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway (NE-6) project.

The 6-lane highway will be upgraded to 8-lane to connect Shaheed Path in Lucknow and Azad Marg Chauraha near Kanpur's Ganga Bridge. The Package-2 of Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway connecting Bani with Azad Marg Chauraha will be constructed on a greenfield project parallel to the NH-27.

NHAI floated a tender for the expressway construction under Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) in September last year. The deadline for the NE project is 2.5 years, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,724.67 crore.

The scope of work includes up-gradation to 8-lane of the Kanpur Lucknow Expressway, including a spur from 528 km to 817 km in Uttar Pradesh on HAM under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

All the bids were sent for technical bid evaluation, and after their completion, the financial bids will be opened to reveal the lowest bidder for the project.

NHAI received 16 bids for Package-1 for Amausi-Bani.

Later, the Package-9 of the 594 km Ganga Expressway, awarded to Adani, will intersect Package-2 of Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao District.
