Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 18 development projects worth Rs 1.13 billion in Uttarakhand鈥檚 Champawat district, aiming to enhance infrastructure, tourism, water supply, and connectivity.
The programme took place at the Chief Minister鈥檚 Camp Office in Tanakpur, Champawat.
Of the 18 projects, 13 were inaugurated with a combined value of Rs 470.86 million, while foundation stones were laid for five new initiatives totalling Rs 650.78 million.
These projects include significant works such as the construction of a multi-storey parking facility in Tanakpur, beautification of the Sipti Waterfall, establishment of a craft centre in Shyamlatal, and improvements to commuting infrastructure around the Purnagiri temple, among others.
Interacting with senior citizens and local dignitaries, CM Dhami underscored the importance of involving the elderly in the district鈥檚 development. He said their life experiences are crucial in building an ideal district.
According to him, senior citizens have 鈥渨itnessed various phases of life and have the potential to provide solutions, which is inspiring, especially for the younger generation.鈥 He further noted that the government鈥檚 objective is to ensure development schemes reach 鈥渆very last village and person in the state.鈥
Emphasising the push towards digital governance, CM Dhami said most departments and welfare programmes have now been brought online. This transformation, he explained, has allowed people to 鈥渂enefit from government services without visiting offices,鈥 ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
Later, the Chief Minister took part in the 鈥淭iranga Shaurya Yatra,鈥 a rally organised to mark the success of Operation Sindoor and to show support for the Indian Army.
Starting from the CM camp office and concluding at Pilibhit Chungi, the yatra witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands. CM Dhami said the success of Operation Sindoor 鈥渉as instilled pride in every Indian.鈥
He added that Uttarakhand is known as a land of valour, with many families having members in the armed forces. 鈥淭he message has been sent. India will no longer tolerate terrorism,鈥 the chief minister stated.
