A meeting was held at the Thane Collectorate to discuss the detailed project report (DPR) of the Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train project. The total distance between both the cities is 717 km which takes almost 15 hours to cover. The train facility will reduce the time to 3 and a half hours. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) has assigned the task of the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Link project. The other proposed project is the 753 km Mumbai-Nashik-Nagpur corridor. NHSCR has proposed six corridors of a total of 4,109 km, while the remaining are Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru of 435 km, Delhi-Amritsar of 459 km, Delhi-Ahmedabad of 886 km and Delhi-Varanasi of 865 km. The train facilities from Mumbai will have 11 stations, connecting Mumbai with Navi Mumbai airport, Pune, Lonavala, Solapur and Pandharpur. The Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is proposed to run along the main expressways, national highways, greenfield areas, and arterial roads of the city road network for high-speed rail connectivity between cities along the corridor. The fare is yet to be finalised, but it is expected to be 1.5 times more than the existing first-class AC fare, which is currently in the Indian Railways. The fare structure, prices and rules may be finalised during the beginning of the commercial operations. The highest speed of the trail will be 350 km per hour, and the average will be 250 km per hour, and each train will carry 350 passengers.
