Llewellyn & Partners Co (LPC), the groundbreaking venture incubated by The University of Hong Kong?s (HKU) MetaBIM Research Laboratory, has unveiled the inaugural SuperApp designed for smart cities.
The SuperApp aims to foster intelligent and sustainable urban environments by optimising data processing and incorporating ISO knowledge to generate data-driven insights. At the core of the SuperApp is AutoCDE, an all-encompassing smart assets system, showcasing intelligent Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions. These solutions have far-reaching benefits for sectors such as transportation, property management, public utilities, and community activities, with a specific focus on achieving carbon neutrality. LPC plans to develop and implement the SuperApp globally, spanning 160 countries.
In a recent milestone, LPC successfully concluded its series A funding, securing HK$25 million with a valuation reaching HK$424 million.
During November, LPC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Hong Kong Green Building System and Keptain MENA Investment No.1 LPF. As part of the MOU, LPC will establish a joint venture with HKGBS and Keptain, with the primary goal of driving innovation in smart technology and carbon management initiatives. The collaboration will concentrate on emerging markets, particularly the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia.
The joint venture aims to promote the adoption of carbon management standards and sustainable practices in targeted regions, leveraging the vast opportunities within the global smart cities industry. It is dedicated to advancing global infrastructure by implementing smart technology solutions in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and Carbon Neutrality goals.
The collaboration is committed to advancing global infrastructure through the implementation of intelligent technology solutions aligned with ESG principles and Carbon Neutrality goals. LPC commits to contributing smart digitalisation and ESG solutions, along with essential technological expertise and knowledge. Simultaneously, HKGBS and Keptain bring their respective strengths in green building technologies and global investment guidance.
Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at HKU, Chair Professor Chris Webster, remarked, ?LPC represents the collective effort of many and demonstrates our Faculty?s fertile ground for breaking new ground in the construction-tech space." He added, "LPC is the dream of one of the Faculty of Architecture?s professors and his MetaBIM research group. It reveals the power of aligning academic imagination, research, and knowledge creation with compelling use cases that unleash the potential of advanced technology for smarter, greener, and more efficient city-building.?
