DTCP to check occupation certificate to prevent illegal construction

Following several complaints against people, who after receiving the occupation certificate (OC) in the licensed colonies, get involved in unauthorised construction, the district town and country planning (DTCP) department of Gurugram has decided that after giving the OC, the first survey would be done after 10 days and the next after 45 days.

The decision aims to prevent alteration or added construction after obtaining the occupation certificate. RS Bhatt, District Town Planner, told the media that it has come to light that after getting the occupation certificate from the department, some persons are involved in the unauthorised construction. Concerning the issue, an FIR has been filed against them, and approximately 50 occupation certificates have been annulled recently.

On Monday, after attending a meeting with the deputy commissioner, Bhatt notified that rules are not being followed by building several floors on the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) plots in DLF Phase-3. After inspecting the area recently, it came to light that about 80% of the plots have infringed the rules. The Deputy Commissioner has been directed to take steps against all these violators according to the rules. If required, an FIR will be filed against such people.
