On June 5, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, proudly inaugurated the long-awaited permanent office building of the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) in the state's capital city. The ceremony, held in grand style, was attended by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and witnessed the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh IAS Dharmendra, Mayor of IMC Tamme Phassang, Commissioner IMC, and several MLAs.
During the event, both Rijiju and Khandu emphasised the importance of IMC's significant role in transforming Itanagar into a truly smart and clean city, setting an example for other cities across India.
The new IMC office building, standing as a symbol of progress and modernity, has been constructed with meticulous planning and an estimated cost of around 15 crore. Its strategic location in the heart of Itanagar ensures convenient access for citizens and staff members alike.
The construction project incorporated the latest architectural and design elements to create a functional, spacious, and technologically advanced facility. Notably, the top five floors of the building are dedicated to official work, offering ample space to accommodate various departments and administrative functions under one roof. This consolidation eliminates the inconvenience of scattered offices that were previously situated in different parts of the city.
With improved coordination and streamlined operations, the IMC aims to deliver efficient and seamless services to the citizens of Itanagar. The new office building signifies a remarkable step forward in the city's development, marking the commitment of the government to enhance the quality of governance and administration.
