A meeting was called in Chandigarh for a discussion regarding the regularisation of demanding changes in the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), Community Center Sector 40. Several representatives from all housing board sectors attended the meeting along with the Former Deputy Mayor, Sarabjit Kaur. Two municipal councilors- Gurbax Rawat, Gurpreet Singh, and CHB directors- Poonam Sharma, Hitesh Puri were also present. The unanimous suggestion of the attendees was that the Delhi need-based changes pattern should be in reference to the regularisation of the CHB flats' need-based changes. As per the demand of residents, until the implementation of the Delhi pattern in Chandigarh no notice should be served on old constructions or need-based changes. They further demanded that property transfer should not face obstacles due to the changes made in the flats. Authority should accept the GPA (general power of attorney) based transfers valid before September 2011. After hearing the representatives鈥� demands and requests, the CHB directors gave an assurance to the residents that in the CHB need-based changes meeting their demand and requests will be taken under consideration. The meeting will be held in a few days. People were assured that the authorities will put in their best efforts for providing maximum relief to the residents in the discussion with the CHB and Chandigarh administration senior officers. Mayor Sarabjit Kaur gave an assurance of taking up the CHB residents' issues with the Chandigarh administration for getting approval for their demands. As the CHB has two directors among the general public, issues have been raised by the representative multiple times, yet they have not been resolved. Image Source
