Govt to approve 3,500 more homes for Dharwad under PMAY

The government will approve 3,500 more homes to urban areas and 1,300 to rural areas of Dharwad district under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), as per the Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister V Somanna.

During the Bhoomi Puja for the development work of 235 homes in Kundagol town on Saturday, Somanna told the media that 4,075 homes have already been approved for urban areas of the district. They will construct slums of Kundagol town by immediately approving 500 homes. Town panchayats must send Aadhaar and Global Positioning System (GPS) details of beneficiaries.

The government has approved 18 lakh homes in the current year to the state. They have already developed five lakh homes, comprising four lakh in rural areas. They have approved three lakh homes under the Basava Scheme. They are transferring the amount from Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation directly to the beneficiaries' accounts.

Minister Pralhad Joshi told the media that the Centre approved the development of 1.15 crore homes in the nation by 2024. TP president Prakash Vitthal Kokati, Bal Vikas Academy president Iranna Jadi, ZP member Chaitra Shirur and others were present.
