Localities in Ahmedabad to witness urban development

Five localities in Naroda and Santej in Ahmedabad will have planned urban development, including social amenities and infrastructure development.

The government of Gujarat has sanctioned eight town planning (TP) schemes.

It includes five draft town planning schemes in Ahmedabad, one town planning scheme in Bhavnagar, one in Rajkot and one preliminary town planning scheme in Patna.

The total area is 86.31 hectare, out of which 72.34 hectare are for the draft town planning schemes and 13.97 hectare for the preliminary town planning scheme, which has been earmarked for urban development.

The draft town planning scheme of Naroda no 127 A, B, C and D and Santej town planning scheme no 153 are cleared. The town planning scheme of Vavdi in Rajkot and Sidsar in Bhavnagar have also been cleared.

The government said that besides infrastructure facilities, local civic bodies would set up Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing schemes, gardens and reserve open plots of land.
