Only 93 projects in Gurugram receives completion certificate since 1992

Only 93 real estate developments in Gurugram have been completed since 1992, as per a report published by the Town and Country Planning department.

Another 21 licenses have been revoked, while 14 licensed colonies are either being prosecuted or have license disputes.

All of this was revealed during the monsoon session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly that just ended.

Rakesh Daultabad, a Badshahpur MLA who handles the Town and Country Planning department, posed an unstarred question to Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, who provided the answer.

A colony's development permit is typically given for a period of five years. The town and country planning department has the authority to extend a license for up to an additional five years, but only if the concerned developer has paid an extension fee in accordance with the department's formula.

Therefore, the builder has the option of delaying the project for at least 10 to 12 years.

According to inquiries, 93 developers have delivered their projects to RWA or the relevant city body.

The remaining 21 licensees have neither paid the price for an extension of time nor received the completion certificate.

The same is true for the remaining 14 projects, whose cancellation procedures are either still being worked out by the department, various courts in the Gurugram district, or the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
