The construction of the great statue of Buddha Amitabha began in 2015 at the Khai Nguyen temple in Son Tay, Vietnam. It was officially opened to the public in September 2020.
To protect the Buddha statue from elements, Penetron was chosen as a waterproofing solution.
President and CEO of the Penetron Group, Robert Revera, told the media that the Buddha Amitabha would attract huge Buddhists and tourists to the grounds of the pagoda. The positive energy from the statue will maintain peace in the country and the world.
The Buddha statue was constructed with reinforced concrete, with 12-floor houses for worship. Waterproofing will protect it from the Vietnam monsoon climate to keep it durable.
Kim Khanh Ngo Xuan, CEO and Managing Director of Penetron Vietnam, said that due to the geographical condition of Vietnam, all parts of the country are close to the ocean, which influenced heavy rain in all four seasons. The Son Tay has chosen Peneseal Pro because it is transparent and long-lasting
Peneseal Pro acts as a liquid sealer and forms a protective layer against moisture. It forms a sub-surface gel that seals the pores, cracks, and capillaries of the concrete mix.
A Penetron Vietnam-certified applicator team, Tico, applied the layer on the Buddha statue.
Looking at the climatic condition and the capabilities of Peneseal Pro, it is an ideal way to protect Buddha Amitabha for many years, said Kim Khanh Ngo Xuan.
The Penetron Group is the leading manufacturer of construction materials, waterproofing, floor preparation, and concrete repairs. The company operates worldwide, providing support to other construction communities through its regional offices, channels, and representatives.
