Residents cannot be denied membership of RWAs

According to agricultural minister P Dalal, no resident or owner of property inside a society may be denied membership in the Residents Welfare Association (RWA). This was stated during the district grievance committee meeting on Tuesday.

The minister gave instructions to the district registrar firms and society after hearing concerns from a residential society in Sector 82A to ensure an early election in the society and to give orders to all societies to ensure that all residents are appointed members of RWA.

On Tuesday, Dalal presided over the district grievance committee meeting. He discussed about 15 issues, of which 10 were settled, and the remaining five required officials to present a report at the following meeting.

The RWA elections were delayed and residents of DLF Primus in Sector 82A were denied membership, which resulted to the residents filing a complaint.
