Varanasi roads may get a face-lift by Oct

In Uttar Pradesh, the Varanasi district administration has given the UP Jal Nigam (UPJN) a deadline of this month of September-end to complete its road digging and pipeline laying works in Varanasi city to facilitate road works to be done by Dussehra festival, which will commence from October 5.

UPJN was to begin by September 15 the process of digging work for laying pipelines for drinking water supply line and storm water drainage. Such digging works were to be done on the prominent roads, which remain heavily crowded during festive season and maximum number of processions immersion of Durga idols also pass through the same routes.

The district administration has strictly asked the UPJN to complete its works by this month. So that the district administration could take up road works in the city and complete them by the festive season, which will start from October 5.
