PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Noida airport project. The airport is expected to open in 2024, but the developer, Zurich Airport International AG, and the Uttar Pradesh government, have much bigger plans for the facility. The passenger terminals will have a capacity of 70 million passengers, while the cargo logistics and MRO zone, which will be built at the airport, will have a cargo capacity of one million tonne. The north runway and the south runway, both CAT III compliant, will be built at the airport. The airport will have excellent connectivity via an expressway, metro, and high-speed rail.
