Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has directed officials on Thursday to complete the tender process for the proposed film city near Noida and award the contract by December.
Tiwari's directive came during a meeting to assess progress on the film city, which is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's pet project.
In the Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, a 1,000 acre film city is proposed.
The project will be built as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority's (YEIDA) Sector 21.
According to an official statement, the chief secretary told senior officers that the tender process for the construction of the film city should be completed as soon as possible, and the contract awarded by December 2021.
Tiwari said that a schedule should be established for the timely completion of all of the project's proposed works, and strict adherence to PPP guidelines should be ensured in the film city's construction.
Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal said that the film city is being built on 1,000 acre and that more than 90% of the land for the project has been occupied.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed, as well as the selection of a consultant.
The film city will be built in three stages. The first phase will cover 376 acre, the second phase will cover 298 acre, and the third phase will cover 326 acre.
780 acres of the proposed land will be used for the film city, while 220 acre will be used for commercial purposes. According to the statement, it will be the world's largest film city.
This UP film city will feature world-class modern technology, as well as special studios for shooting serials and films, as well as all necessary facilities for animation, web series, cartoon films, documentaries, and digital media.
The film city will also include film production studios, special effects studios, hotels, club houses, water bodies, workshops, tourist and entertainment shopping complexes, amusement parks, convention centres, and ample parking.
