PM Modi inaugurates 5.21 lakh homes under PMAY-G in Madhya Pradesh

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5.21 lakh homes of beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Madhya Pradesh while participating in the 'Grah Pravesham', a ceremony to give new homes to their owners.

Addressing the programme through video conferencing, Modi told the media that the government provided topmost priority to rendering homes to poor people. So far, 2.5 crore homes have been built under the PMAY scheme in the nation, comprising two crore in rural areas.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in the programme from Chattarpur in the state.

PM Modi told the media that under the Nal-Jal scheme in the nation, six crore families were rendered pure water tap connections in their homes. Besides, over four crore fake ration cards have been withdrawn since 2014 by the present government in the country to stop the theft of food grains worth crores meant for the poor.
